This article is designed to let the players understand how the asteroid moves in the Oort Cloud, and also to let the players have an idea of how the Oort Cloud looks like as well as how it works.

In the Oort Cloud, asteroids move in a jump-like fashion. They can change their speed and the direction of movement. See Maneuver the asteroid.

One jump is done on an hourly basis. The distance of one jump is 123,840,672,292 km if the player's asteroid speed is at 1. Speed 2 is twice this speed. Speed 3 is three times this speed, and so on.

asteroids jump once an hour, but during this hour they speed up, and then stop without changing their coordinates. This affects a radar update, which is updated once every 10 minutes if more than 2/3 or new area (real coordinates) is covered.

The radar covers the real area, and not degrees.


The Time and the Speed
  • Angle changing: It takes 6 minutes to change 1 degree.
  • Speed change: It takes 60 minutes to accelerate or decelerate for each speed number. Accelerating from Speed 1 to Speed 3 would take 120 minutes. Speed 1 to Speed 10 would take 540 minutes.
  • Speed 1 is 123,840,672,292 km per hour.
  • If the player's asteroid speed is at 1 and it is moving along the equator line, 0,53 of one cell is updated once an hour. That means that if the player's asteroid moves more than 66% of the way through a cell, the contents of that cell will be revealed.

At Speed 1, it would take you 480 hours (20 days) to circumnavigate the Cloud. At Speed 2, 240 hours (10 days). At Speed 3, 160 hours (6.66 days). At maximum speed of 10, 48 hours (2 days). For example, Speed 1 would only take you 53%of the way through a new cell each hour. Speed 2 would take you 100% of the way through one cell and 6% into the next. So that would only reveal one of those cells.

  • At the poles, moving at Speed 1 will only take you 5.3% of the way through a new cell, making progress slower than at the equator.

At that, the number of degrees per hour will not change, but the number of kilometers and radar cells will.


The Oort Cloud
  • The Oort Cloud's circumference (equator) is 59,443,522,700,500 km.
  • One radar cell is approximately 233,111,853,727 km wide. This means the circumference of the Cloud has 255 cells running along it.
  • The location of the player's asteroid(s) is recalculated once per hour.
